I saw Johnny 3 weeks ago on a Saturday morning as I was leaving Blue Ridge. I just really didn’t have time to stop. I told myself then I would try again when I came back to pick up my work. Luckily he was there again this past Saturday morning.

Johnny sells tool handles here on the side of GA HWY 5 between Blue Ridge and McCaysville every Saturday morning. A nicer person you could not ask for. When I told him all I really wanted was to photograph him, he was as happy as could be. We talked the whole time I was taking pictures, all about when the highway wasn’t busy or as wide. He was a great man with lots of tales from the past.

If you are ever up that way and you see Johnny on the road, stop and talk for a while, he would enjoy it. Maybe buy a handle for the tool, he is a lot more interesting than the guy at Home Depot.

Just a quick post to get back on track, I have been really busy printing and framing for my opening September 10, 2010.

This image was tken early one morning near Blue Ridge, GA. I was up and about and decided to go and take a quick walk in the woods. This little bottom filled with turkey beard caught my attention, so I set up and grabbed a few shots. Hope you enjoy!!

Please remember to sign up for the free portrait sitting and print I am giving away Sept. 20, 2010.

Coming in the fall. I am going to give away a free portrait sitting and a 12×18 print. All you have to do is go to the comments section of this post and tell me why you want to be the winner. I will then pick from all the people who have submitted their comments.

A couple of stipulations. You must live within 45 miles of Dallas or be willing to drive here for the sitting. You must be willing to allow me to use your image for promotion. That’s it!!

I will probably be shooting this in October, but I will try to work around the winners schedule. It will be a location shoot somewhere of my choosing. All the details will be determined after we sit down and talk about the way it will be done. This will be a fine art portrait not unlike the portrait of Ms Romaine shown on this post.

You can enter from now until September 20, 2010.
